The bulletin provides an overview of significant court decisions, notable precedents and emerging trends, supporting greater understanding of how case law is shaping planning practice.

Cases included in this edition were selected following recommendations received from the Planning Law Bulletin Steering Group. This Group comprises nominees from the Law Society of Ireland’s Environmental and Planning Law Committee, An Coimisiún Pleanála, the OPR legal services provider Fieldfisher LLP, the County and City Management Association and the OPR.

The OPR intends to publish the ‘Learning from Litigation’ bulletin on a quarterly basis, ensuring that practitioners and stakeholders are kept informed of relevant legal developments in a timely and accessible manner.
