Research, Training & Public Awareness

Under Section 549 of the Planning and Development Act 2024, the Office of the Planning Regulator (OPR) is responsible for leading national research, education, training and public awareness programmes to help people understand the role and benefits of good planning.

We provide education and training programmes for elected members and for staff in local authorities, regional assemblies and An Coimisiún Pleanala

The aim of our education, training, research and public awareness programmes is to support better learning and knowledge sharing across the 31 local authorities, the three regional assemblies, An Coimisiún Pleanála and other key groups such as professional bodies and interest groups.
