New Eco-Eye series examines rural settlement

Ireland’s longest running environmental series, Eco Eye, kicked-off its new series this week looking at innovative ideas rural communities are putting in to practice in tackling Ireland’s housing issues in rural areas.

Broadcast on RTE 1 on 5 January and presented by Duncan Stewart, the programme was produced in collaboration with the Office of the Planning Regulator (OPR).

Among those Duncan spoke to were Dr. Maura Farrell, Rural Geographer from NUIG, Seamus Boland, CEO of Irish Rural Link, Brian Beck, Senior Planner from Tipperary County Council, Mick Forde Bradley, Senior Executive Architect from Limerick City and County Council as well as residents from Cloughjordan, Co Tipperary
