Important changes to planning law are taking effect as the Planning and Development Act 2024 is being commenced on a phased basis.

Update on the OPR services in relation to COVID-19

The Coronavirus 19 outbreak has created many challenges for organisations in continuing to deliver their services. Nevertheless, we are conscious that we must continue to perform our functions for the public and our customers in line with our statutory mandate, while at the same time ensuring the health and safety of our staff by following the Government’s advices and precautions in relation to public health.

Our staff have re-organised using flexible working arrangements in line with wider public sector arrangements and while we are not an organisation with a public office, we will continue to be accessible to all our customers by:

Telephone: 01 854 6700

Email: info@opr.ie

Web: www.opr.ie

Post: Fourth Floor, Park House, Grangegorman, 191-193A North Circular Road, Dublin 7, D07 EWV4

At this stage, we expect minimal disruption to the services we provide and we thank all those that depend on our services for working with us at this challenging time.

The Act is being commenced on a phased basis to facilitate a smooth transition from the existing legislation to the new legislation. It is important to note that transitional arrangements are in place. This means that certain elements of the work of the OPR remain under the previous legislation during this time.

This website will be updated at the earliest opportunity to correspond with the commencement of the various Parts of the Act.

Information on the commencement of the Act is available on the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage website.
