This webinar is being delivered by the OPR in conjunction with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

It is recognised that local authorities have made significant strides in recent years with the integration of Local Transport Plans (LTPs) into the statutory plan-making process. To help build on this progress the NTA are reviewing issues which have arisen and they are in the process of updating their guidance for local authorities with respect to the Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) methodology for the preparation of LTPs. This webinar will provide an overview of how the NTA proposes to address identified issues in the revised guidance and will seek to highlight where improvements to the process of preparing LTPs can be made and their integration into the statutory plan preparation process.

The speakers will be Julie Galbraith, Land Use and Transport Planner with the NTA and John Keating, Senior Planner with the OPR. John and Julie will be joined for the Q&A element by Senior Personnel from the NTA and Tara Spain, Head of Land Use Planning in Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).

The presentations will deal with:

• Local Transport Plans, Lessons Learnt and the Revision of the NTA’s Area- Based Transport Assessment Methodology; and
• Experience of Local Transport Plan Preparation.

The presentations will be followed by a Questions and Answers session which will be moderated by the OPR.
